I used to think I needed to feel calm before doing the thing.

Before the conversation.
Before the decision.
Before the step forward.

But clarity doesn’t work like that.

It arrives when it’s needed, not when it’s demanded.

I’m noticing this as I listen: the pressure to “get myself into the right state” quietly drops away. Anxiety doesn’t mean failure. Uncertainty doesn’t mean danger.
